Let's get started!

Maytag is the primary manufacturer of household appliances and has been for many years. Several households and businesses have used Maytag appliances over the years.

However, it becomes essential to replace the appliances as they age over time. Thus, there’s a need to find out the appliance’s age.

That is how long it’s been in use or when it was manufactured.

To find out the age of a Maytag appliance, you’ll have to check the device for the serial number. Serial numbers are usually inscribed on the part of the appliance that is not touched often. A serial number is usually a ten-digit number, and the last two digits indicate the month and year the product was manufactured.

How To Tell Age Of Maytag Refrigerator?

To check the age of the Maytag refrigerator, you need to find the serial number inscribed on the part of the refrigerator.

Unfortunately, the number is usually hidden, so you’ll need to check carefully, but it’s there.

Like all Maytag appliances, the Maytag refrigerator also has a serial number that contains the year and month of production.

Maytag serial numbers are usually written on inconspicuous parts of each appliance, so they can’t be easily scratched off.

These appliance serial numbers usually contain ten digits, and the last two are alphabets.

It’s the alphabet that represents the month and year of production.

The first eight serial number characters are not involved in checking for the year and month of production.

Instead, you can use the last two alphabet characters to decipher the year and month of production, meaning the appliance’s age.

For Maytag refrigerators, the serial number may be inscribed on either the upper left side of the food storage unit or the front part of the food compartment.

Sometimes it is also written on the food liner, not just anywhere on the liner, though. Usually, it is at the top right side of the crisper pan.

Once you’ve found the serial number, you should be able to ascertain the year and month of manufacturing.

Each alphabet represents a month and year; you can look up which month or year each alphabet stands for, and voila! You have the year and month of production.

How To Tell Age Of Maytag Washer?

Determining the age of the Maytag washer is also a straightforward procedure; all you need to do is find the serial number on the washer and look up the last two alphabets in the serial number.

Once you find that, you can tell the age of the Maytag washer.

Remember that if you have the washer’s receipt or paperwork, you can save yourself some extra work. But if you don’t, you’ll have to check the washer itself for the serial number model.

Once you find it, the rest is easy enough.

Furthermore, the serial number on Maytag washers is usually found behind the washer, on the back of the control panel. The control panel is on the back of the washer.

Also, check the inside of the washer cover and the right bottom corner of the washer lid. You can also find the number on the left corner on the back of the base frame.

How To Tell Age Of Maytag Water Heater?

Telling the Age of Maytag water heater is slightly different from other Maytag appliances because it is manufactured in State industries.

While you still need to find the serial number, which is somewhere on the body of the water heater, it is the first two numbers after one alphabet that tell the age of the water heater.

Furthermore, you could be interested in replacing your Maytag water heater with a new one or just want to check how long the present water heater has served your needs.

Or you just want to check how reliable the appliances are.

First of all, find the serial number of the particular water heater you want to know the age. Each appliance has a unique serial number.

The more common coding system is not used for water heaters; the state-finding system is used.

This means that it is the first two numbers of the serial number that determine the year of manufacture and not the last two alphabets.

However, the serial number characters are different for each product; although the appliances usually look similar with slight variations in model, the company often manufactures them in very different years.

For Maytag water heaters, the serial number is usually on the side of the water heater.

First, find the manufacturer’s guide; the sticker is usually there and has the serial number stamped.
